Our new website
Shepton Montague Parish Council commissioned this website from VCS Parish Council Websites in January 2023.
Our website is now fully compliant with The Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 and you can see our Accessibility Statement link at the bottom of each web page.
The Council hope that residents of the village find our website a useful source of local information. We welcome any suggestions as to how the site can be further developed to become an even better resource for our residents.
Thank you Peter
We record our very grateful thanks to Peter Gane for all his work to build and maintain our first website for several years.
Some comments from residents:
"Peter, thanks for all the good work and I wish you the very best wherever you are going and whatever you plan to do next!" Sarah Maude
"Peter – Unfailingly patient with all that has been asked of you – especially from me – so huge thanks. As we discussed I think ease of access for everyone, alongside necessary compliance, is important so lets hope we can progress with this and that someone comes forward with the knowledge to help!" Julia Hunter
"Peter, you have made a huge contribution to the village by managing this website, thank you. Looking to the future, it would be useful to have a village calendar covering all activities in the village." Susie Dowding
"Peter, thank you for providing this excellent facility and your financial input to making it work. Whilst it may not be used massively, it’s there for all to use! We can’t not have it. I hope there is someone who comes forward who can take this project on." Oliver Dowding
"A HUGE thank you to Peter for his contribution to the village for many years as Webmaster. He has single handedly ensured we have a working website we can all access and through which we have been able to keep up to date with Village Hall and Church events and post up Parish Council information. We would also like to express our thanks that he has also been funding the village website up until now and his loss to the village since he moved away is immense." Shepton Montague Parish Council.
"Thanks Peter for all your hard work on Parish Council stuff and unscrambling the information I have emailed you and posting it up in a presentable form. Also for being patient when I send you something and then immediately send it again, amended! We couldn't have managed without you." Margaret, Parish Clerk.
